Steps to love start with dating. The end of some misunderstandings during dating can be embarrassing. Many people are very curious about what the other person thinks of you. So, is it possible to tell whether the other person is flirting with you or not by facial expression? Scientists made a new research on this very curious subject. In the studies carried out, it was revealed that the women who flirt wore certain facial expressions.
Researchers from the University of Kansas investigated the specific facial expressions women wear to show their interest in men. As a result of the study, it was determined that internal situations such as romantic or sexual dealing with someone can be conveyed by facial expression, that is, non-verbal.
THE MOST SMILE IS MADE
"There are very few scientific articles that systematically examine this curious phenomenon," said Omri Gillath, a psychology professor who co-authored the article published in the Journal of Sex Research.
We conducted 6 studies on the topic and found that most men can detect specific facial expressions in flirting women.
These expressions have a unique morphology. It is different from expressions (such as a smile) that have similar characteristics but are not described by men as flirty expressions.

The authors of the study used the Facial Action Coding System (FACS) to classify flirty facial expressions. Developed by a Swedish anatomist named Carl-Herman Hjortsjö, FACS is one of the most widely used methods of identifying individuals' facial expressions during emotional expression.
According to the findings obtained by coding, it was understood that individuals wearing the most effective flirting expressions turned their heads, tilted slightly, smiled and turned their eyes towards the target.
The women participating in the study were asked to put on statements they thought were "flirty" or to follow the instructions of the researchers.
As a result, it was found that some women were better at making "flirty" expressions, and some men were better at recognizing these expressions. Certain expressions, on the other hand, have been successfully described by almost all men as "dating behavior."
Thus, the researchers, who determined the most well-known forms of dating expressions, used their findings in experimental studies. Gillath said on the subject:
For the first time, we isolated and defined the expressions that represent the flick. We have also revealed its functions. These can stimulate romantic and sexual relationships.
Research can also offer men a more concrete way to tell if a woman is actually flirting.
