Hackers targeted 130 Twitter accounts in one week. These accounts belong to prominent people and famous organizations, this is what Twitter claims.

According to Reuters, hackers took control of Twitter's internal system last Wednesday (July 15). They then snatched the accounts of big names in politics, media, and technology, including Barack Obama, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, tech giant Apple, Uber, many others. The purpose of the hacking was to take control of digital currencies such as bitcoins.

Twitter, meanwhile, noted at the end of their statement that hackers could achieve some of their targets and start tweeting from an address. Twitter added that they are working to fix the damaged accounts. The FBI is leading the investigation.

According to law enforcement agencies, the attackers originally tried to commit cryptocurrency fraud. Meanwhile, a blockchain record shows that they have earned more than one million dollars so far.
